FAK: Hodnik Displaced

V duhu nekega drugega prostora in časa bomo v sklopu FAK - Festival Alternativne Kulture v HODNIK preobrazili sosednjo dvorano. Glasbeni izbor se bo nadaljeval, kjer se je tudi končal. Pri klubski glasbi s poudarkom na nižjih frekvencah, ki jih bodo ob standardni ekipi (DVS & Šuljo) dodatno popolnili še Dubdiggerz in Kanomotis.

DubDiggerz (Artikal Music UK, Gourmetbeats, Plantpower Records)

The duo DubDiggerz, hailing from the depths of Slovenia, have been stirring up soundsystem culture a fair bit the past few years. Even though the two-headed moniker has been taking part in this movement since its inception in 2011, both Mark and Daniel have already given life to some of the heaviest dubplates and physical releases. These have been in steady rotation since their very first productions were finished and cut to lacquers.

Their tailored focus on the meditative properties of basslines, to-the-point percussion and perfectly executed dub effects make every ‘DubDiggerz’ cut a special occasion. Without surprise, this has already led to support from some of the most established names in Dubstep, including the ranks of Mala, Joe Nice, Distance, V.I.V.E.K, J:Kenzo, Sleeper, Karma, Foamplate and many more.

Mark and Daniel have a wicked selection of releases under their belt (with plenty to follow); releasing their heavyweight music on vinyl thanks to the trust of America’s Dubstep Ambassador Joe Nice and his acclaimed Gourmetbeats imprint, J:Kenzo’s forever dark Artikal Music UK, Foamplate’s brainchild PlantPower and the producers’ self-owned DeepEnd! brand – something both are very grateful for. The producer duo’s involvement in the DeepEnd! movement, ‘a like-minded group of individuals conspiring to advance their soundsystem culture concepts’, will result in some interesting physical and digital releases unveiled soon.

BazzWarz is their bi-monthly radio show, which was broadcasted via the DJ’s live-streaming community Chew.TV. This and their respected DeepEnd! sessions have given them the opportunity to invite international producers to the show and play exclusive material from around the globe, having already streamed their - currently final - 100th broadcast (with the first broadcast aired in 2011). With many promoters like Outlook Festival, Seasplash Festival among others booking the duo, it’s safe to say you should keep an eye on DubDiggerz: a now household name representing the pinnacle sound of Dubstep.

DVS ( Tigerbalm)
DVS je na domači klubski sceni prisoten od leta 2011. Kot DJ in organizator dogodkov je več let deloval v okviru društva CUF, leta 2016 pa je skupaj s somišljenikoma Freeversom in vizualno ustvarjalko 5237 zagnal svež projekt Tigerbalm ter postal rezident na dveh radijskih postajah, londonskem Radar Radiu in ljubljanskem Radiu Študent. Za njegove sete je značilno spretno kombiniranje različnih zvrsti in stilov, od rapa, r&b-ja, afrobeata in dancehalla, do grima, uk funkyja in garaga ter drugih malignejših klubskih tvorb s pozitivnim učinkom na plesišče.
